Alpine Action Food

Cuisine

The cuisine offered by Alpine Action, has been always been described by us and our guests alike as “good quality and more than enough quantity”.

In all our chalets you can start the day with a selection of porridge, cereals, yoghurts and locally fresh baked bread and preserves. You can also enjoy a choice of cooked eggs with a daily accompaniment of one of the following: bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms or beans. All served with fruit juices, fresh coffee and choice of tea’s.

On your return from a days skiing, you will find afternoon tea for you to help yourself, consisting of a freshly baked cake or biscuits together with tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Meribel & La Tania Chalets Breakfast

Shortly before dinner you will be invited to enjoy a glass of Kir with canapés with your fellow guests in the comfort of the lounge area around the fire. Your carefully prepared dinner comprises three-courses, please see our example menu’s, complimented with selected French wines followed by coffee and chocolates.

The farewell evening meal on Friday evening will give you a chance to sample the local cheeses accompanied by a complimentary bottle of port.

Chalet wine

Wednesday is our host's day off - on this day continental breakfast will be laid out with fresh bread, croissants and pain au chocolate being delivered to your chalet. Afternoon tea will be available as usual. Your evening meal will be at a local restaurant our hosts or representative will be delighted to help recommend and book this for you earlier in the week.

Of course tea, coffee and fresh fruit are available for you to help yourself for the duration of your stay.

Wine

At dinner we serve a free  selection of a very pleasing and palatable French wines such as a  Merlot and a Sauvignon Blanc to compliment your meal. A pretty decent chalet wine, although if you are a connoisseur and feel you would like something a bit better then please discuss you requirements with our UK office.

Dietary Requirements

We know from experience, that many people who travel with us each week are vegetarians and we are more then happy to offer a vegetarian option for our evening meal. There are so many other dietary requirements nowadays and as much as we sympathise, we regret that most chalets do not have vast kitchens or teams of chefs and specialist ingredients to satisfy extreme dietary requirements.

Where possible we ask that guests also provide items that will assist our staff in cooking, availability of your essential items may not be in the local shops. We ask that individual guests can always avoid whatever they don’t like.  Please discuss any dietary needs with our UK office.  We can only cope with alternative diets such as vegetarian or certain religious restrictive needs.  Please note we cannot promise an absolute nut free environment

Children’s Meals

Younger children will eat earlier then the allotted time of 8pm with the adults, we normally suggest between 18.00 – 18.30. Information will be provided to the chalet staff before your arrival. At the UK office we try to provide as much information as possible and will ask parents: What do your children eat? Will they eat a sauce free not so rich version of what you eat? Do they like fish fingers etc.and chips?

You can help with some guidence. We can then ensure that this information will be passed onto your chalet hosts so your children are happy and well fed.
